When you "Lease On" with an expedite carrier, you do so under the
premise you are an Independent Contractor (IC)!
You as an IC may get as many "jobs" as you want, it's within your
right to be "entrepreneurial" and "creative" in an effort to maximize
your earnings potential..
Just like ANY expedite carrier, they have MORE THAN ONE customer, so why shouldn't you!!!
In other words, MORE THAN ONE expediting carrier your working with. With, not for.. There's a difference!
Unfortunately, some expedite carriers will NOT allow you to run for
multiple carriers at the same time but THERE's GOOD NEWS you'll learn about as you read on!
Unfortunately, those expedite carriers that do not allow you to run
for multiple carriers may have some methods which make it very
difficult to run for others, even if you do not disclose to them that
you want to or already are. The way those expedite carriers make it
difficult (and expensive for you) is that they make you get their
insurance for your cargo vehicle. In other words, they issue you an
insurance policy for your unit. This makes things VERY difficult for
you to run for other expedite carriers. We're not saying this is an
intentional method to keep you from running for multiple carriers but
it is certainly a residual affect.
Fortunately, there are many expedite carriers that are currently
allowing owner operators to "Lease On" with more than one expedite
carrier AND, the list is growing and the popularity of this is growing
and many, many expedite owner operators are doing this and receiving more and more income.
Why run for more than one expediting carrier at one time?
Well, so you can maximize your earnings potential and, NO expedite
carrier can produce with ASSURED CONSISTENCY AND RELIABILITY, a load EVERY SINGLE DAY. This just isn't reality!
